Note: Because we are primarily an export region, the majority of merchant ships traveling on the Columbia are here to load cargo and deliver it elsewhere. Ships that are here to deliver cargo are marked “(D).” Ships delivering cargo here that do not have a return cargo to pick up before they leave the river can take on ballast water, to replace the weight and stability that cargo afforded them on their inbound journey. Transit times are approximate and may change without notice.
